Lack of access to legal identity documents that reflect their gender identity also makes it difficult for them to approach banks for loans. Livelihoods ensure long-term dignity and freedom for transgender individuals. .

Shan Dhakad (Transman, Shivpuri)
Shan had been working at a food stall since the last five years. He was asked to
leave
his job as well as separate from his family when he came out as a transman. He was
able
to start his own business - âFood Adda - Chatakdar Swadâ - after getting support
from
the Garv Udyam program.
Today, Shan is living a self-reliant life and proudly manages his own business as a transman.

Abhishek was very interested in designing jewelry, but due to lack of financial
resources, they were unable to start their own business.
They were able to open a jewelry shop after receiving support through the GARV UDYAM

From ABCâs perspective, a glimpse of âMera Kunbaâ
âMy name is ABC, and I am a queer person. When I came to âMera Kunbaâ, I was completely broken inside and I had no clue where to go next.
After coming here, for the first time in my life, I found safety, belongingness, and the freedom to live without judgement. Bit by bit, my self-confidence returned. With the help of âMera Kunbaâ I started my BHMS clinic and today I am self-reliant. For me, âMera Kunbaâ is a new start which gave me the courage to live my life.
