Why the Drop-In Centre exists
For many transgender and gender-diverse people, there is no safe public space to rest, talk, or ask for help without being judged, questioned, or turned away.
The Drop-In Centre exists to meet immediate, everyday needs while also becoming a doorway to rights, services and collective support.
The DIC is also a space where individuals can learn about their legal rights, find out about government schemes that can benefit them, and prepare to engage with hospitals, police and government offices. It is a space where the community can come together to discuss issues of safety, discrimination and access.
